I'm a Firebird guy and I'm still jealous of those. Nice score! Where did you come across them?

Re: Treasure Find!!

I just posted this on your FB post.

I heard a story once about a mint OEM set of Conteur seats. Someone took the car for a test drive when new and flipped it over. The car was totaled by insurance and parked at the dealer. Someone took out the interior and stashed it away. Maybe these are the same ones??

Re: Treasure Find!!

I picked them up for $1200. They appear to have been bolted in at one time but have zero signs of fade or wear.

Those have to be those mythical seats. Right color and rumored price. Congrats! Nice score.

What state did they come from?

Re: Treasure Find!!

My favories are the 82 style Conteur upholstery, which is much like the base cloth. Second is the 83-84 orange, looking best in gray or white cars. In my red car it’s a bit much. Oh! And there’s the brown. I do like the brown. All I know is they make those early cars a bit more special than those without.

I agree, considering that is probably the nicest set on the planet, they were a bargain.

Re: Treasure Find!!

you don't wanna know what what new seat buns and NOS fabric plus the labor to make the covers for my car cost. Luckily, I was able to install the covers myself and save a little money there .... $1200 for that NOS seat was a steal
