Aside from the hideous ECM thats RIGHT THERE, it looks really good! One of the cleanest installs I've seen here - good work!

haha, it was the most convient place to install it.. i really didnt want to extend the wiring on it and put it under the dash like the original.. But thanks, its been a lot of work.

you should find some valve covers that match ive seen ones with grooves that would make it look good once painted to match

And here I was going to relocate the radiator overflow bottle so I could mount the PCM there. . .

Re: Showing off the LTx swap.. Take a look!

haha, i really don't think the ECU looks that bad there? and its very convient for the length of the wiring harness and how it routes. I got a jegs overflow can and its mounted right beside that actually... i relocated the battery to the opposite side of the car where the charcoal canister was. ...

and no the engine is far from stock, bored .040" over, SRP pistons, hooker super comp headers, 58mm TB, ported heads/intake matched, LT4 hotcam, LT4 timing chain, Ford SVO 30# injectors, and im in the process of setting up the Delteq system instead of relying on the opti... with the 6AL ignition. 4th gen rear end, T56 trans., Spohn suspension, torque arm, crossmember w/ loop.... maybe some other stuff i can't think of right now?

I'm not sure what kind of HP it's going to put out, but im hopeing its going to be in the upper 300s haha.

ECM does look kinda ugly there, but I wouldnt worry about it unless you dress up the engine bay a bit and re-paint it, but it still looks good overall dont get me wrong.

Re: Showing off the LTx swap.. Take a look!

How did you route the heater core hoses? just one from the WP to the heater core and then a return line to the radiator? Im trying to incorporate the stock valve and im having trouble.

Oh, and looks great man!

There is the idea! Exactly what I was thinking... A new coolant bottle is 15 bucks from MDM. Cut out the bottom, mount it over the ECM, bingo.

Looks like a nice swap! Im not a huge fan of the red wire loom...but you did a good job making everything nice and neat. I wouldnt mind seeing some more pictures (as im sure im not the only one that wants to see...).

Good stuff!

Make a bracket to mount the PCM back by the heater box. Someone else did it that way and it looked really good.

In this picture you will be able to see exactly how i ran the heater hoses. the 3/4" line is on the bottom and wraps around the side of the engine and the 5/8" line is on the top and goes kinda in between the valve cover and the intake manifold.

As for mounting the ECM to the heater box i didnt want to put any holes in it because it is a AC delete box from the factory and from what I've seen they are pretty rare.

Re: Showing off the LTx swap.. Take a look!

Here's some pictures of the entire engine swap process, i know I shoulda did this before...

Gettin' the block ready for paint

The end result...

Engine partially assembled

The camaro arriving for engine swap

The 305 is out

Ready to go in!

Puttin' in the NEW LTx

How I mounted my LT1 power steering res.

Overhead view of where I mounted the computer and the new coolant overflow, relocated the battery to the opposite side.

And it's almost finished!

If anyone is looking for any other pictures of something just ask and I'll get one to show you how I did it. Hope yinz guys like the pics!

Re: Showing off the LTx swap.. Take a look!

^ Excellent install! The ECM does look a little out of place there, have you considered at least painting it to match? Either that, or tuck it away behind the strut tower....

Re: Showing off the LTx swap.. Take a look!

Ya, i have thought about painting the runs in the ECM red to go with the rest of the engine even though the rest of the ECM will be a dull aluminum.. but it will match better... its just at the end of the my schedule lol.... im more worried about hooking up the delteq and wiring in the 6AL MSD ignition to get the car running right now haha. But when its all finished I will update on the performance and all.

Re: Showing off the LTx swap.. Take a look!

If you want to hide the ECM from sight, I did a full write-up on locating it under the dash. It didn't require lengthening any wires

Or paint the whole thing and polish the edge of the fins, like the intake.

Re: Showing off the LTx swap.. Take a look!

Yea, I have a few options for what I can do... right now im content with the ECM "RIGHT THERE" lol. But down the road i will probably end up making it look more pleasing to the eye. Has anyone done a similar swap with similar engine upgrades?? I'm curious of what Kind of HP i can be looking forward too.

My buddy mounted his at the front, in the space where the battery used to be. It looked factory. Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures, and he has since sold the car.

Noticed you still have the single fan in there. Think that it will keep the engine cool?
