mating an Astro T5 to an LSX motor?????
Can it be done? ..and HOW? What would I have to do to make it work?
it would be the ultimate in weight savings and I already have the T5.
I would like to do a carbed LS1 or LS2 with a Astro Super T5.

Yeah, no kidding - putting ANY kind of T-5 behind an LS-series engine is seriously pointless...

there's mustangs with 347ci AFR 205 solid roller motors in the mid 10's on motor and 9's on the spray....I think it will be just fine. And cheaper for ME.
I will also be using an 8.8" center section with 10 bolt tubes.
The car will get MAX power to the wheels with Strength, lightweight, and greater efficiency.
I have the tranny, B&M Ripper, and Centerforce clutch already....All new.
So what would it involve?????? New flywheel? is there a flywheel out there that will work? Will the T5 input shaft fit into the back of the LS1 crankshaft?

The spacing is diffrent from the back of the crank to the back of the block where the bellhousing fits. You would have to figure out a way to change it wether it is adding a spacer between the flywheel or having some kind of dished flywheel. I'm not sure which way it is different. mustangs t-5 seem to be stronger or there cars are lighter or something because a t-5 in a third gen will not hold up long. I went through many with a mild 350 and street tires. If you put it behind an ls1 with slicks you will be rebuilding it a lot and will cost you more in the long run in my opinion.

Mustang T-5's are different. I know forsure they have a stonger casing, which is a weak point in the camaro t-5's.
You need a custom flex plate, its like $400 or so and requires certain clutch's if i remember correctly.
T56 is 345395340950394340985743095x better then the T5

OK, go nuts man. Who knows, you could be the ONE person who can make it work for more than a couple of months...
(FWIW, you're DEFINITELY on the right track with the "light weight and greater efficiency" idea, it's just that there have been way too many people that have tried -and failed - to put decent power through a T-5 for me to think that it'll suddenly work this time. No offense.)

do you not know what an Astro Super T5 kit is or what???? There are SEVERAL who use this or the GForce T5 kit, and it will last a WHILE! Of course a stock T5 will grenade. No one is denying that.

Well You obviously havent done much research. Go over to Corral.net and look for Yellow94GT with a n/a 347ci and 466RWHP. Runs 10.70's with 1.4x 60's and has trapped 126+mph.
THERE ARE SEVERAL Mustangs in the 10's with these tranny's. They WILL hold 500rwhp without much of a problem. 400rwhp shouldnt be a problem at all for one. Hell There's the dude with the 83 T/A on here with a 383ci and a Gforce T5 that runs 11's at 116mph+ and drives it DAILY!
Im not wanting to make a pissing match outta this. I just wanna know some details on how to swap it in there. I gonna use it. I already got it. Im not gonna drive it much anyway. Its my baby, and will only be driven occasionally. I have a '90 Mustang GT for my daily with an Explorer/GT-40 topend.
