I don't generally make a habit out of publicizing any specials/GPs/etc, but this is one that I figured might be worth sharing (considering how popular the LS7 clutch is). Until April 30th, Scoggin-Dickey is offering the following parts as a kit for $460 + free shipping:

GM LS7 Pressure Plate, Disc & Flywheel. Also includes GM flywheel and flexplate bolts.

Wow, they went up on the price of the kit.....I paid $399 for mine from them about a year ago for my '98

I think I paid around $425 from them. So the price did go up. But either way. SDP is a good company and the price is still decent for a good clutch. Plus you get everything you need except for the alignment tool.

I think in that thread they mentioned that they've included the bolts (and something else?) 
that hadn't been included before, so that's probably part of it as well.
In any case, free shipping on a relatively heavy piece like that isn't too bad...

My kit was pressure plate, friction disc, flywheel, pressure plate bolts, and flywheel bolts.
You just need to run down to autozone and get a pilot BUSHING for a 69 camaro 350 and an alignment tool for an LS1 car.

Hmm, I used the normal LS1 pilot bearing for mine, that's what they told me to use when I called and ordered the kit. Mine came with new flywheel bolts as well.

Mine was $399, didn't come with the pilot bearing. I added the pilot bearing and alignment tool, paid shipping ($18), and it was still less than $460. It was a heavy box. Not all that well packed, either, but nothing got damaged.
Tim, we reused the clutch bolts, IIRC. Do you remember that part?
J., I've seen you prefer a pilot bushing to a bearing. My clutch vehicles were so old that bushing was standard, and bearing was the top-notch pay-more-money upgrade. So, silly me, a pilot bearing sounded like the way to go.

thats a decent price. i have a spec 3+ in my car.

The spec 3 was a tad too much of a hard pedal for my taste, that's the nice thing about the LS7, it will hold as much as a spec 3 with a stock pedal feel.

Yeah that box was HEAVY... That clutch package is heavy as heck. Compared to the alum flywheel I pulled out its crazy.
My choice of a bushing over a bearing came from reading all the horror stories about the bearings coming apart and chewing up the input shaft. There are enough of them to warrent concern...but usually only if you have a lot of miles on the bearing. As well as falling apart and being impossible to yank out. They've been using the exact same bushing from the 60's, maybe earlier, til fairly recently...so I figured cant go wrong. Plus it was only like $6 and everyone has em in stock.
I dont think you can really go wrong either way honestly... but I usually suggest a bushing whenever I talk clutches with someone. Just a preference I guess.
I like the pedal feel of the LS7... I had a Spec 3 before. The alum flywheel and heavy pedal made street driving a tad annoying. The car is pretty smooth now. I miss the quick revs of the lighter set up. When I need a new clutch, Ill probably go with a flywheel somewhere between the lightweights and the ls7 weights. Im super happy with the LS7 though.. between its drivability, clamping power, and price, its a great set up.

Gah, I need to man up and pull the trigger on this. The clutch is the only thing holding me of putting the drivetrain in the car.

Wow. I'd sell those all day long for that price.
Although it's not much more for an LS9 clutch. Aftermarket adapter flywheels will be coming out soon.

Seems like a decent price. I got mine 2nd hand, so i cant say what they were new.
As for bearings vs. bushings. We use bearings in all the Vette's we build @ Champion Motors, here in toronto. But ive seen 1 vette with more then 60,000km's on it (35k miles approx)
The roller pilots tend to come out in little tiny pieces, thats for sure. Clean out the snout, and then your good to go.
Its a interesting point about the bearings falling apart, i guess it all depends on your feeling towards it, and how often you have the transmission out
