bmr or spohn crossmember for my swap
I want to get one of these crossmembers with a-arms and coil overs. I am liking the BMR, anyone have any tips one way or the other. My 91 z28 is getting ready to accept the ls1/t56 from my 2000 z28. I plan on keeping the ls1 a/c and using Hawks long tubes.
thanks,
guys.

Of those, I would choose the BMR hands down.

BMR, as long as you going with the stock clam shell mounts. If you go with solid motor mounts on the block, you have no wiggle room to get things lined up due to there solid mounting point on the K member. I tried to no avail and ended up going with the stock mounts.
All accessories including A/C clear just fine and no steering link clearance issues.
BMR K member should be used with BMR A Arms, or the K-member may need to be clearanced, depending on A Arms used. I had Spohn A Arms before the BMR K member and had to modify the K member to get the A Arms to clearance at full squat. Can be done, but with mods.

A little grinding on the solid mounts, making holes into slots and it drops right in. I do agree that the jigging could be a little better since I had to shim up some stuff here and there, mainly gaps on bushings.
