Re: Got me another Thirdgen!
I picked up a 89 rs with t-tops today for $150. May never see the title, but my other 89 rs will see some new parts
. So might some of you guys. They said it did run, but they lost the keys, so I had to pop the ign. cylinder with my dent puller. As we all know, no key, no start. Any way to bypass that?

500 bones is more like it! Looks like a solid car all the way around, keep us posted on when/how it runs. More pics of both cars would be cool! I like the ROH's on the GTA

$500...WTF!!! You can't even find a Third Gen around here with a motor/tranny for that little, let alone one with a good body! How is it that NY and Pennsylvania seem to have all the cars? lol GREAT FIND MAN!

Re: Got me another Thirdgen!
85K miles 350 all original. If I just consider the car as any other third gen, I think I did OK. Adding the condition, the unmolested state of the car and the fact that it is the only one in the universe that we bought brand new June 2, 1989, the $5000 was a steal when I found the car in WV August 2, 2008!

TO THE OP> AWESOME FIND. I'd've bought that in a second.

no actually I'm not in too much pain.. For some reason third gens are really hard to find in the eastern Iowa area(at least in the shape mine is in). so I actually got a decent deal I talked him down from 6800...around here a car like yours would cost me about 8000 if it had less than 70000(the magic number i wont go over for some strange reason)

Re: Got me another Thirdgen!
Got the car running yesterday, it had not ran in almost 5 years, thats the good news. There are only 2 problems that i am goin to have to deal with. There is a leak in one of the brake lines which is not a big problem but i did notice it was leaking quite a bit of oil, it had not leaked oil when it was running 5 years ago. From what i can tell it looks to be coming from the oil pan, might be a crack from rust, doesnt look like its from the gasket, ill have to inspect it closer to find out exactly. But other than that it started up and ran fine drove it around my driveway and the tranny seems to be good.

Wow that is an amazing deal that is you would pay for the wheels over here in Dubai. I paid way to much for my cars but that is the price you pay for living in a country where nice cars are rare.

Nice find, I grabbed my 82 Z up for $2K with a rebuilt 350. I was just happy she wasnt a total hack job. Does for $500 Iroc run? TPI or TBI?
