Has anybody hit a deer with their Thirdgen?

I was just curious if any fellow thirdgener's have hit any deer or larger animals with their cars.

The reason I am asking this is because my buddy and I almost took out a few deer in his 86 Z28 the other day. I guess it might be better put that the deer almost took us out. Good thing those disc brakes were working well.

I was curious if the car being so low has any advantage or disadvantage to hitting a deer or something similar.

well the deer will obliterate anything it touches, most likely including the windshield...

my advice, dont hit one.

depends, saw one (firebird) that hit one at 60 mph and you could only tell by a few scratches and blood all over it.

and another one (camaro) looked like it hit a truck just destroyed the hood nose fender and windsheild

it all depends on how fast and just how the deer was hit. anything is open when something that heavy is hit by a fast moving car

Ouch

I got a pretty big one, got the hood on the driver's side, header panel, the nose came loose, and bent the fender just a hair. Hadnt even had the car for 2 weeks.

just bounced off the front, didn't get the windsheild. He was a big fuc**r too.The second one was in a car similar size as my iroc.I hit him right in the middle at 120KM.His legs took out the head lights, minor crumple on the edges of the front of the hood.He went right up and over the car not even touching the roof.He was doing the back spin down the center of the highway in my rear view mirror. So in reality definitly not write off type damage either time.Good tip told to me by my trucker buddy is if your gonna hit one aim for his ***.If he does jump/run foward you'll hopefully miss him or at least just clip his **** instead of the opposite and hitting the whole thing solid.

Hit a deer, car and deer survuved

I hit a pretty good size deer(200+ pounds) with my 87 Formula. Just had time to hit brakes at about 60 mph, car swerved to the left just a couple of feet, probably preventing the deer from going through the windshield. It went diagonally across the hood from the center point towards the right mirror. Took the right headlight completely off, crunched the front edge of the hood, and its hoof gouged the mirror.
About $2200 woth of damage by the time the hood, mirror, and headlight were replaced, the deer jumped up and ran away. Don't recommend tangling with deer.

Well I have yet to get mine painted, saving up to get the whole thing painted, but a new fender and some straightening of the hood and new headlight and all is good and atleast 1 piece.

Not in either of the Camaros I've had, but I've managed to hit 3. I actually was on the way to get estimates for hitting a deer in a truck I had, and I hit a chicken!? The neighbor down the road had a bunch that got out and one flew across the road and dented the hood really good. Just told the body shop some B.S. story and got it fixed under the deer incident. I hate deer. I wish they'd kill them all!!!!
