Re: any members on here from the branson springfield mo area
I go to college in St. Joseph, MO but I spend my summers back home in Camdenton. A bunch of my buddies go to school down in Springield. But they are drivin a silver SRT4 and a yellow SRT4. I know during the summer basically every friday night is a we all cruise the strip at the Bagnell Dam in lake ozark. And there are a few car shows on thursdays. There is the famous Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals that is on the Strip by the bagnell dam that happens around the end of may every year. There really isnt too many thirdgens around Camdenton though

Another one late to speak...
I go to school in Springfield and then head back home for the summer. I've got a stock 89 Iroc 305 tpi. I don't know of any get togethers nor have I heard anything about any clubs. :/

Re: any members on here from the branson springfield mo area
Thanks for the invite, but I think I'll pass. I think what I'm looking for is something more laid back and more along the lines of a third gen/general-Camaro enthusiast group. Although, I may check it out sometime, at least as a spectator. I'm not so much interested in racing as I am into the look and feel of these cars.

Yea, there are enough of us chiming in to have a get together. We will all have to meet up when all this crappy weather goes away.

Yeah, I'm also from Springfield. My car is not running ATM, though. I'd definitely be interested in a group.
Re: any members on here from the branson springfield mo area
All right, well I believe there are plenty of us here to hold some sort of get-together and maybe even talking about forming some sort of a thirdgen owners/enthusiast club. Let's start talking about good weekends or dates to get together. I've got work this weekend and I'll have to check about the next weekend, but it's starting to get somewhat more consistently nice so I think we should be able to meet sometime by the end of the month. What do you guys think?

Re: any members on here from the branson springfield mo area
I blew a intake gasket friday, so my car is down right now.
I did install new ones sunday, but the car started pooring out black and grey smoke about 20 minits after i fired it up (3 hrs after installing the new gaskets) so im without a 3rd gen at the moment, this weekend i'll be re-redoing my intake and checking for other possable issues... the last weekend of this mounth is the big car show in osage beach where me and a few others from here will be going... i belive its the 29, there is a thread on it.
I know bluezee will be there.
Also if you guys wanna all meet up and drive in together we could all meet out by my place... Its on the way from springfield to osage beach, its right on 65 hwy. Just a thought.

Re: any members on here from the branson springfield mo area
Yeah, I'm also out of a thirdgen temporarily. I need to replace my steel brakelines upfront on the engine and I am having a hell of a time finding oem replacements (and those are PRECISELY what I want, I'm a stock kind of guy). Hopefully I'll have good news soon. Oy.
I've passed a purple RS and seen a beautiful, red Firedbird parked outside a house in town. I wonder if those guys are on here...

If any of you guys are going to ThirdGen Fest, you could meet up with our caravan that is going to be leaving from St Louis. PM me if you're going.

Did that purple rs look like it could use lots of work, have t tops silver strips and chrome 5 spoke rims? If so that's me, but there's another one floating around here too and she's not on here.
Re: any members on here from the branson springfield mo area
I believe so! I think I gave you a nod in passing a couple weeks ago.
I would love to caravan to Thirdgen Fest, but A) Don't know if I'm clear from work just yet, and B) I'm not going anywhere if I can't find a replacement for the steel fuel lines under my tank. I haven't had any luck with any of my leads this past couple weeks.
My daily driver has been my motorcycle and the bracket that holds the shifter in place just snapped. I have it rigged in place with rubber bands so I can get it back up to my folks' place and weld it either tomorrow or Saturday. It simply hasn't been my month!

My cars back up and running, i'll be in springfield tomarrow.. pm me if a few of you guys are out and about and wanna hang for a few minits.
Re: any members on here from the branson springfield mo area
Still waiting on my car! Dug around and found that the wiring around my fuel pump fuse fried as well. Oy, so now I am replacing the fuse/relay, wiring, and trying to come up with a solution to replace the steel line I can't find a replacement part for. My goal is to have my car back on the road within the next week though. I'm getting too antsy and miss driving it.

Re: any members on here from the branson springfield mo area
Try takeing the stockers off, and going to your local napa or autozone, or orileys and showing them what you got, and ask for a replacement, if they dont have one, then have them hook you up with some steel fuel line for the right length, and ends, and bend it yourself useing the factory one as a templet, i have done this a TON of times on breaks but never once for a fuel line... its worth a try tho. I can call my local junkyard and see if they have one, they have 3 smashed up 3rd gens out there, not much left of them but im shure they have the fuel lines.

Re: any members on here from the branson springfield mo area
I did not see this post before I posted something up looking for Springfield guys. I have been rolling around the area for a little over a month now in my purple 92 RS. I would LOVE to get together and hang out with fellow third gen owners. Any plans thus far on getting together? Steak and Shake, Andy's, random empty parking lot (Circuit City?)
I took it upon myself to start a local 417 free forum for us all to post on. It's nothing special but it will allow us to communicate with one another, and on a higher level than on thirdgen. Here is the URL: http://417thirdgen.forumotion.com/ It took me about 20 min to make, if enough interest is shown then maybe a paid site will be created.

Hey, sorry, I haven't been on to say anything, I don't need that line anymore. I've hardly been on here while trying to get my car back on the road.
That said, SHE LIVES! I'm finally back behind the wheel and it feels good. I can finally go back to saving up toward body and paint work (and I can finally sleep at night).
