How many of you plan to race?

I am going to race and to see other thirdgens race,
Im just trying to get an idea because I would hate to have 100
TG's show up at an un rented track and get one run after a 4 hour drive. I have no problem contacting the track to try and make arrangments to accomodate us if need be.
Thanks

I plan to race.

Oh, and forget about renting the track, they want like $10k for it.

We could try to get a lane just for us though.

I would love to get my 3rd gen down the track a couple times. I don't expect to win but it would be awesome. But i would like to know the saftey requirements for the track you plan to go to.

I think most are universal, but I'll check into it.

Anything in the 13s helmet, and a roll bar or cage for 12s, something like that, I'm sure someone else can be of more help.

I'm purdy sure that Cecil doesnt require you to have a helmet if you are running 14.0 or slower.. Once ya hit 13.99 or faster you gotta get one. Also to, IF you have a convertable and plan on racing, and going faster than 13.99(11.99 or faster if it isnt a vert) , they will check for a cage. Another thing is when you race there, you must have pants on (I forgot about this one time).

Just a few things

Yup, pants, though sometimes they over look that stuff.

Also, the battery must be secure.

That one too Mark, there must be a over flow bottle for the coolant, the car cant be visibly leaking anything what-so-ever , the drivers seat cant be loose, if it is a carbed car, there must be dual return springs on the throttle linkage....

A few more off the top of the head.

You need a cage for 11.99 and below for NHRA,
Driveshaft loop for cars running slicks or M/T ET streets because they are soo sticky, also 5 point harness for 11.99 and under.
No more than 6" of rubber fuel line exposed- braided ok.

Id be afraid to run the car with the stock tranny, but I think I'd probably end up on the track for at least a pass...

I may make a run or two if I bring the T/A, the camaro is a no no. First of all, an 18 seconds pass is embarrassing and I dont want to put uneccessary stress on it. As for the T/A, working on a long distance towing plan first, then off it is. I want to run the car hard, and see what it can do. Hopefully with some pro action heads I will hit in the 13's with drag radials. Otherwise, expect me to run 14.3-14.5.

most tracks i've been to in maryland do not provide nor rent out helmets. So you're gonna have to either barrow one from a friend or barrow someone's on the day of the event.

If it comes down to it tell them you are going to run 14 something and at worst they will boot you after you make a pass but doubt they will remember.

mark mentioned about renting a lane for us who attend..what about 2 lanes side by side so we could race thirdgens all day..

instead of a line of TG's racing nothing but imports n such lol

talk about "us vs. them"
