The back seats are so light that its a pretty small difference. I'd leave it as is - I think you have a nice clean looking strip/street car as is.

1991 RS/SS.... I'm installing a mild steel S&W 10 point cage in my 88 right now. The shipping weight was 170 lbs but that was with 2 sets of door bars (bought the clearanced door bars to fit around arm rests)
After I took the cardboard off, metal band clamps, paper work and straight door bars it only weighed 143 lbs
but to put the two bars to the trans tunnel you need 2 extra 6" x 6" x 1/8" plates and those 2 weighs 3 lbs. So now at 146 lbs.
If you want swing out side bars, 2 swing out kits weighs another 4 lbs.

to get that pro look take out all the interior and depending on the outside of your car as well get it all panited. to jsut do the inside well the painter has to do some good masking and all to not allow paint mist to get on the outisde. me persoanly i would like do do this all over again and have everything taken apart and sprayed at once.
Jeff, I do remember you from Orlando. That had to be 96 or 97. Tha Battery is in the stock location. I do have a cell mounted in the rear. It is sealed with alliuminum sheet. I will post some pics when I get some.

V6camaroman... I got mine stright from S&W race cars. Mines the same as BlueBeast's from the pics of his I seen.
10 point cage, clearanced door bars, and shipping to my house was a few bucks under $400. Like $393
I don't have it fully installed yet, but you can take alook at my pics on the install at http://community.webshots.com/album/535313828Bdmlrh
I still have to cut, fit, notch and tack weld the door bars in, then grind the sloppy flux core welds smooth and go back and fully weld all the joints with a mig welder.
I was just gonna tack it in place and get a pro to weld it, but they want $400 just to weld it if I bring the car to them. So I bought a hobart 140 mig today for $420 at tractor supply. The tank and gas will run about $130 and I'll fully weld it myself

it does go between my elbow and shoulder it just bends in towards the drive and passenger to clear the pull bars.
How do you get passed tech with that fuel cell? I really dont like the Look of the Halo Down bars. But other than that it is a clean install. My door bars are straight and clear the door rest I just mounted them to the cross bar instead of the hoop.
