Re: 4.10's
With the 700R4's low first gear, you would probably lose traction off the line all the time.

I ran 4.10's with a TH350 and 27.3" tall slicks many years ago. 1.6x 60' times.

Re: 4.10's
I ran 4.10s in my 87 GTA. Had them in there for 5 years, till I sold it last summer. At 70 mph it would tach 2600, with stock tires and wheels. I had a 3.73 in it before that, realy couldn't tell much differance at the track. If you're going to be running street tires at the track, 4.10s may be a tad much. I had my 700r4 shifting at 6000 rpm, which was way too much for my 355 with a xe268 comp cam. It started nosing over at 5400. I played with the governor but couldn't get it to shift any lower. Between the tpi and the 700 I just gave up on it and built a race only car. I just couldn't get the performance out of it that I wanted. The guy I sold it to still runs it at the track once in a while, still runs in the 8.80s with a 1.85 60 ftr.

Re: 4.10's
I had 4.10`s with the 700r4 several years ago, the traction was a problem but it did hook and go sometimes. The 4.10 really covered up the big rpm drop to second gear well, it also overspeed the driveshaft at the big end, at least with 26 inch rears. My 60`s were all over the place but never did get out of the 1.5`s with the combo.

Re: 4.10's
So I guess 3.73 Posi is the only way to go?
