What kind of tires you using and or prefer?

It turns out my engine swap ideas are on hold yet again. I need new tires, I found that out once it rained and I couldn't grip anything. What would you guys suggest? I took a look at some H rated tires. Some what good for performace, but still last 60k km plus. Well, so long as I don't do a lot of smoke shows.

Info on this would help a lot,
Jay

I'm assuming you are talking about 16" tires. I really really like my Toyo Z-1's for everyday driving. Good all around characteristics. Get 'em at Les Schwab down here in the NW US. Goodyears are stickier, but wear out too quick for me (never got over 15,000 miles out of a set). Falken's are good tires for relatively little money, but are a bit noisy on the freeway.

Years ago I had a set of Yokohama A06 tires for autocross, and really loved them, but you can't use them in the rain (one half tread, one half slick), and there are probably better tires by now for autocrossing.

Engine: Almighty LS1

I was pretty happy with my BFG Radial T/A's till I roasted the shyt out of the damned things and found them slashed a few days later got so pissed I started hacking away at one out of sheer anger lol

305's = pain in the **** to find for 15x10's

Right now I have like armstrong or something or other on the front and some Goodyear Eagle GT4 (I think thats what they are) on the rear...

Soon as I get new wheels I'm going with Toyo or BFG

I have Cooper Cobra tires on my IROC-Z and I drive it daily 50 miles a day. Very good tire for handling with very little wear, and I've had mine over 3 years now. And awsome in the rain for driving too. I used to hydroplane on my old Falken's, not nearly as much with the Cobras. They're a shorter tire, so they don't fill the wheelwell as much as I'd like, but still a good looking tire.

I have Dunlop SP5000's (245/50/16)...got em for a good price. They seem to stick pretty well and have a cool tread pattern, so I like em

245/50 Toyo Proxe FZ4's Good tires, treadwear is good with a 300 rating, about $150 each. They are Z rated, and give a warning if they are about to slide. If you push you car, id recommend them.

Although, I do need 2 new tires, and I am going to try out the Kumho Escta Supras.. my friend has them on his 91 300ZX and they grip like crazy!! And, $86 each for 245/50s from tirerack.com. Hope this helps some

Those are sounding better than the Bridgstones (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/bridgestone/bs_re730.jsp) I was looking at earlier.... Price is a lot nicer too
