Darren,

Larry called me a couple of days ago. He's been busy with work lately.

I finally installed my water injection system and tried it out a couple of weeks ago. You would not believe how quickly it lowers my air temp. I had to eliminate the long rubber hose in front of the throttle body, replaced it with a piece of polished aluminum fitted with the water injection nozzle (on the bottom so it's completely out of sight). See:

Suffice it to say, I can't wait to hit the track on June 29th (rain permitting)!

SLICK H2O injection setup you got there.

I assume you're injecting water through the top three injectors behind the throttle body.

But I am curious about the use of water thru a stock appearing injector. Will rust be a problem??

Thanks, and again COOL setup.

The three injectors are part of my Superfueler system. It is boost activated and the amount of fuel injected is electronically controlled. The water injection nozzle is not seen in this pic. It is mounted on the polished oval piece in front of the throttle body. This piece is not part of the ATI kit. The kit comes with a long rubber hose instead.

My water injection pump is located next to the charcoal cannister.

Darren,

$349 for the SMC kit seems like a good price. But I believe the braided steel line is overkill. I use 3/8" rubber hose. You also get a lot of bells and whistles that you will never use. And where are you going to mount that huge tank? It seems the braided line they supply isn't that long....

I use a 14# stainless steel nozzle (same as SMC) screwed into a brass bung, both pieces purchased from Carroll. I fabricated the aluminum "oval" in front of my throttle body and JB welded the nozzle to it. I use a 100-psig Carroll pump and a 1/2 gallon reservoir. The reservoir lasts for a minimum of eight passes at the track. Heck, you probably refill the windshield washer reservoir more often....

I suppose there ought to be another post, on this topic but, while we are talking about it. what does the injector nozzle look like? does anyone have a good picture of one? I can get a N2O fogger nozzle & was thinking about playing around with making one.

If you are getting 8 runs on 1/2 Gal, that is about .325 Gal/min. Does that sound about right?

have you ever looked @ the output of the nozzle when it is spraying? I wonder if it looks like a fine mist or if it is just squirting out.

boy 100 PSI pump, I am thinin that could not have been cheap. where did you get it (with the kit)? how much was it?

thanks amigo

Sorry Willie I didnt tell you the kit is now on a Gp for $300.I talked with Steve on the phone,a real nice guy answered alot of my questions.Said he can upgrade to a bigger tank that will hold one gallon for about $40.I dont have winshield washer tank now and Steve told me its not a good idea to run denatured with a winshield washer bottle.Seems he has seen leaks develop after time. And the braided hose is for safty he told me says denatured is very flamable.I thingk the low light indicater is a good addition and I dont have to change nozzles since I can adjust the pump flow from the drivers seat, and dont have to bother with hobb switches either. It seems like a very good kit,and the pump is mounted in the tank to.Well for $300,or the upgraded size tank for $340 seems like a good deal.He told me with the 1/2 gallon on his car he gets about 6 full passes on it,and some street driving, but he is running 22lbs of boost on pump gas, with little or no knock.

Darren,

I did get a look at him afterwards and he had this dumbfound look too him.

And NO-WAY am i bothered by the whine, the only time you really hear it, is when your putting around, which is just about never!

Its a blast going too car shows, it definately grabs some attention when your pulling in or leaving

I will get some pics next week of everything all complete and cleaned up

Still grinning from ear to ear
