I was wondering if it´s worth the the cost to put a nitrous system on a stock 305 tpi.
Is that possible without changing anything else in the engine? How much hp would it give?

I´m new to this nitrous thing so bare with me :-)

l've got a stock internal 305 with a 150 HP shot from NOS, people will tell you that thats really pushing a 305 beyond it's limits, and people will tell you it can handle it. whatever the case, the fact is that I've gone through about 16 or 17 bottles and im still running great. even on stock timing. it makes a huge difference.

 

Sounds cool... but does it work with tpi engines? All nos kit´s I´ve seen have been for carbs. Can ju adjust the amount of nos from time to time, while u drive?
So your engine works great and nothing has broke down?
When do u use the NOS, what gear, it must be hell of a strain on the rear axel and tranny?
I use a a 5 speed tranny (stock) do u think it will have strenght to keep up with the shot?

 

i seen a show on Speedvision where they installed nitrous on a cobra and they kept talking about how safe it is... im thinking about it... what's the best kit for tpi's

 

I got hooked on nitrous after seeing the movie "The fast and furious" that movie kicks *** ! They use NOS as ordinary gas

they were also driving a uncle ben's wild rice powered pieces of crap. They really did give a very false impression of how nitrous works. Dont expect to be pushing some kind of magical power button while shifting gears. In reality many nitrous kits work VERY well at improving hp on "stock" engines. The advantage is that this mod can be turned off for regular driving...on at the flick of a switch when boy-racer rice pulls up next to ya at the stoplight.

i have 86 z with tpi, 350 soon with 305 heads,and 700r-4,what nos kit should i get,and can u use this as soon as u start going,or would u have to wait for a higher gear??

 

I sprayed 150 on my 305 ans was only able to get a 14.4 out of it, but that was peeling out alot!!!!
