Ping noise still here, did my mechanic put the wrong replacement cam in?

Ping noise still here, did my mechanic put the wrong replacement cam in?
Would the fact that the cam that cam out of the car was a SBC HYD HMV-278-2 and the one put in is a COMP CAMS 268H (part#12-210-2 [49]) and the RPM range, the rocker arm ratio(1.5,1.52), and pretty much all the numbers seem to be off a little.. Think maybe that might have something to do with the pinging? I found out the rest of the problem in the thread below is detonation issue and I am upgrading the fuel pump and getting larger injectors, but this pinging noise is bothering me.

get a custom prom done and 42 pound injectors i found out the hard way if you are still going to use your paxton.
