Commercial website links in sig...

I have a question about putting a commercial web site link in my sig. I'm the web creator for a web site that a friend of mine owns that deals with automotive related parts (powder coating, custom fabrications, things of that nature). What's the policy on links in sigs? I couldn't find the user's agreement from when I signed up recently and I couldn't find it on this site anywhere to look at it again. Any help is appreciated from a moderator or site admin. Thanks!

My understanding is that it is ok to have links in your sigs. As long as you don't post ***** the site promoting your business. Glad you took the time to ask first.

you aren't allowed to advertise, or have a link to another site like you're asking. if you do sooner or later you'll be asked to remove it. if you want to advertise place a banner ad at the top like the rest of the advertisers do.

Is that just business or all websites? Never heard this before just wondering. Why we need a Moderators Forum. *hint, hint*

yeah a moderators forum would be nice, i know it from ICON, from brad as i understand it no advertising either directly or indirectly of a comerical type. i don't think there'd be a problem changing your sig to say xxx and yyy for sale, sort of like my sig for a job.

Who do I contact for the ads at the top of the page? The webmasters address again or any particular member to PM? They need to put an "Advertise Here" link up there too to make it easier... Oh well, prolly to expensive for his little side business anyway...
