Half the problem is there is still too many threads ending up in A&D. It helped a little bit when they divided it up into A&D, Body, and Interior. If body was changed to "Exterior and Wheels", there would probably be a few less threads in A&D.

I know, so many threads needed to be moved but it wasnt worth taking the time to PM the mods cause by the time they read them they would already be answered or moved half way down the page and no one replys. Some threads taking almost a week. Just need some organization, and im on this board way too much, id love to help.

I think Deadbird has a valid point. The Report feature is there for a reason, please use it rather than publicly criticize the moderators who generally cannot read every post, as Deadbird mentioned. We do have some rules about criticizing the un-paid staff here. PM'ing the staff would be better, as Amorget stated.

Stevo, if you're here as much as you say you are, you should see how often I'm on here. Yet, I don't read every post or thread either. It's volunteer based help. Being a moderator of a specific forum doesn't chain them to their own forum. They have other interests and reasons to be here, just like the rest of us.

I'll check with the rest of the staff for some input and opinion on the matter.

Thanks.

I agree that deadbird had a valid point... everyone is real quick to complain that a thread isn't locked fast enough, or they add to the off-topic garbage... but they don't report it.

I'll be honest, I hardly come by these boards anymore. Part of it is I've lost interest. When I moved and left my Camaro at home, it was bound to happen. But even now that I'm back, I still come here maybe once a week. I think it is more because no matter what, people are going to complain. When I first started moderating the A&D board with Josh, it was a mess. We cleaned it up and were quite strict, as some of you remember. I've heard all the **** Mod/ Jealous Mod/ Power Hungry Mod remarks but the truth is, that was when that board was at it's best, in my opinion. Then a bunch of people started crying that we were too strict and we loosened up and now there are too many grey areas again. I personally feel that the A&D board should be about appearance modificatons and detailing. Not "Lets see all the red Camaros here" and similar posts. We have vBGarage and omnipotentgoku has a huge gallery.

As for the thread about the car being in the magazine, I remember when people weren't allowed to post such things because of copyright issues. Does that still apply?

ebay links were also not allowed at one time and I feel still should be locked and/or deleted regardless of whether they are appearance and detailing or not. The ebay link will only be good for so long and after it expires, the thread is useless.

I could probably go on but I won't. I certainly am not against another moderator on the board though, since I do the least work anyway. The only reason I haven't quit entirely is because I think my interest might return when I get working on the IROC for the first time in two years this spring.

I understand, i dont know maybe this little deal actually got me to the point where i had to state my opinion. I normally try not worry about those things.

I can tell, you are hardly around anymore yet your car is still one of my favorites! You need to do something about that! Its a shame with a lot of the older members they all visit once a week or month and post once in a blue moon. Times have changed(some good some not so good ) , i still remember the days when i was a newb to the site...the site was more fun or interesting i should say.

I know this site isant one to switch or change moderators around based on whos the most active...but if you guys need help im here. I dont even know who or if thats possible but just putting it out there.

Thanks... I still like my car too and I can't wait to start on my "plans" but even then, I'm not sure how much I'll be around here. I think part of the problem with the appearance board is there are only so many questions. It's rare when something new comes up, so that's probably why I stopped checking it as much.

While we don't only add moderators based on who is logged on a lot, I have recommended certain people based on them reporting a lot of posts I didn't see and I'm certainly not against doing that again. But I think deadbird and AmorgetRS were the only two people who would report posts.

I'm certainly open to feedback from the existing moderators when it comes to moderation staff. I like the moderators' input when it comes to candidates because the moderators generally know the helpful members on their forums, especially the ones who use the Report post option. I occasionally go around and check with existing moderators (through PM or the Admin/Mod forum) to gather opinion and feedback on the staff status when I suspect there might be a need. You are correct that you provided, and supported, 2 candidates. Both were added (deadbird and AmorgetRS). This was when Cayse stepped down.

Everyone can help by using the Report post feature for legitimate reports. Some members take the time to reply to threads to inform the author that their thread will get locked (usually due to an obvious rule violations), but they don't use the Report feature.

If a member sees a post they feel needs reporting, they should PM all the moderators of the Board as well as JT (Admin).

First, we do try our best but no one can watch this place 24/7/365. If they do, they really need to get a life. So report it first to all the moderators & admins by a PM so they can review it.

Second, a moderator or admin may have already reviewed the post. And they may have a different opinion of whether the post should be reprimanded OR maybe they already gave a warning or infraction to that person and felt no further disciplinary action was considered necessary (for now).

And I like the idea that members how notify the moderartors & admin on a regular basis be the ones that are considered for recommendation to become a moderator. If the moderators & admin are constantly getting PMs, then they will know that they either need to spend more time on the Board, or realize that the work load on a particular board has greatly increased to the point where maybe they should add another moderator to the board to help out.

But, without feedback & PMs from the members, no one will know this. It's only through feedback & PMs that the modertors & admins can realize that the workload has increased and another moderator should be added.
