Ok, all I have to say is a big "THANKYOU" to Zap and his wife for everything they did to put this event together. I know that myself and Owen put about two weeks into getting cars ready for this event. Also thanks to the Seally crew that put everything together for us and by far treated us better than any other track period. Now to the bad part. I am not going to bitch relentlessly , but if you sign up and say you are going to a event , go to the event. We had 22-25 cars say they would go. We had a grand total of 7 or 8 cars there. We finally had a place stepup and take care of us and we didnt take care of them. Yesterday was a prime example of why we cant get monthlys going and why people get frustrated with helping. Seriously though, I love my car and enjoy the site and when we have a big event ie.. Fall brawl , Spring fling, I am there. But when we get everything down and a great place to race and tell them yeah 25 cars say they will be there and 7 show up, That sux. From here on out , can we please not say we are gonna be there unless we fully intend on being there. See all yall at the spring fling thing. P.S. Thankyou Lonestar Raceway for giving a trophie for the winner of our bracket.

I know I'm one of the guilty ones...but I really did intend to go. My absence was unavoidable, believe me, I tried to avoid it.

I apologize for saying I was going to be there and not making it. I feel especially bad since I suggested the date and place.

So how did it all go?
Who won what?
Who ran what?
Where did you park?
How was the track? (I Haven't been there since it became a 1/4 mile.)
Was it very busy?

It went very well, It wasnt very busy at the track at all because they had opened just for us. There were some other cars, but it was mainly geared for us. We had some park by the front and others park by the tech table. Like I am saying it was well setup, the most frustrating thing to everyone was the amount that showed

Jay,

My sentiments exactly--couldn't have said it any better (although I would have gone off a lot more due to the frustration of putting this event together and then having the **** poor showing/car count that we did.) Because of all this, the 2006 Fall Brawl will be the last event I will put together. I have done 7 of these big meets now--It's time for somebody else to step up and do it.

A REALLY BIG thanks to the sealy staff - -and John Hennessy (track owner) who basically opened the track just for us, and those of U who actually showed up.

Eric,

Dave (Wheelspin) was the overall winner in the dial your own time- -double elimination inner club bracket race. Seems like almost everybody else either broke or broke out.

Barry and I combined the first round of eliminations with out grudge match--I won with a time of 13.20 (my personal best) to a 13.30 for Barry (his personal best I think). I broke out more than Barry did so he went on the the final winners bracket.

Larry Dunlap broke out in the first round of the losers bracket by running a personal best of 12.99.

Jay broke in the final for the winners bracket against Barry.

The overall final was Barry from the winners ladder against Dave from the losers ladder-Dave won --he was very consistant in reaction times and et's all day! And Dave --earlier in the day--was not even going to run the inner club bracket race!

oh yeah--How can I forget! The hard luck award goes to Daniel. After final getting his car on the road--due to 2 weeks thrashing on ARD's part-- and then while sitting in line to pay admission to the srip, his car started knocking BAD!! Fortunately it was not engine--it was the flywheel/flexplate, but bottom line is that he did notget to play with the rest of us.

Daniel, being the good natured, even tempered person that he is, took it in stride (I'm not sure I could have controlled my emotions like he did), and went on to run the double elimination bracket race for us.

I also want to say a BIG Thanks to Daniel for changing the tires on my car to the drag slicks and then changing them back to the street tires. As usual i was hurting pretty good, and not sure if I could have done it by myself.

THANKS DUDE!!!

Hey Barry,

Did U have to get the car towed home or what?
----------
I know Jay ran an 11.000,

Owen ran a 10.18 in his 4th gen.

Don't know what the Chevelle ran or any of the other cars that ARD brought out.

Anybody know?

The track and it's large green area, the Lonestar Staff, and the weather all cooperated to make a great place to have the event. I don't know who all the people who said they were going to come and didn't, but you all missed a great time. If it wasn't for the ARD people and cars it would have been really embarrassing. I even got my son Max to come down there (threatened with loss of computer privileges). If I would have known we were going to do a bracket race I would have got him to race. He might have won with his 6 cyl, just put it in drive and mash the accelerator to the floor and steer down the center.

What happened to Barry's car that it might have needed towing?

His starter quit starting--they jumped across at the starter and it fired up--threw the alt belt earlier in the evening, so he drove home in between 2 of our guys with the headlights off--running on battery only. made it home OK.

Yeah, I won the overall, and other than Chris I was the slowest TGO car running. I chalk that up to being fairly consistent, and simple luck of the ladder. After I brokeout and Larry still spanked me in first round, I faced off with Chris on the loser ladder. It was his first time at the track, and when he and I faced off I knew he was going to take it easy on launch due to worry for his new clutch and simple lack of track time. Next I went against Zap, who beat me in every category, but was off his dial. Finished up next to Barry, who again beat me all around except the tree, and that's where I won that.

This was my first time in a bracket style competition, and I LIKED it. I see myself doing more of that in the future. But I'm not going to do it in a 14.5 car. That would be embarassing to me. So Larry, AND Daniel, I may give you both a run for 2nd Fastest Third Gen in the Spring.

Now onto the soapbox: No, I wasn't going to run, even though I simply love full-throttle passes down the track. The way I saw it, what better place to break the car than out here in the ARD area when I want a new engine anyway? I won the long-distance award, and only drove 100 miles to get there! Plus I had a new Grand-daughter on the way, (born this morning, all is well). When I realized we only had 5 cars competing, due to a ****-poor turnout, there was no way I was going to leave. Zap, and the track, went way out of the way to put this event on, and I for one am very appreciative of that. The track even gave me an 18" (edit: 24"!) trophy for winning the inter-club event!

Zap, a personal thanks to you and Mrs Zap, I don't blame you for stepping aside. Thank Odin we didn't have a t-shirt order thread going.

Now that's teamwork, and glad to see it....Didn't know you had that Barry, would have helped more.....Was waiting for you at the winners circle! But grandaughter calls!

I drove the front of that convoy, 55mph sux from seally but oh well, I was more worried about Barry getting back , I only looked back a 100 times or so to make sure he was still there. Anyway, Spring Fling will be better , I know it, I also know that seally should be the early favorite to have it at

Thanks to these 3 guys, first Zap for all his hard work setting up the fall brawl & Jay and Owen for all of their hard work getting all these cars to the track that were done at ARD, my car may have broke when I got to the track but I had some fun runs on the freeway

Yep. That Optima Yellow-top is one hell of a battery.Last time at Baytown, the alt. went away and drove to Katy at night with the headlights on! (Craig following). Thanks to Wheelspin (NOT) for a good race. He treed me, AND I broke out. Oh, well.

Hey guys i am sorry we didnt make it out to your event. My SA3GO club had a meet and they ALL voted to go the Fbody VS Foxbody shoot out and so i decided to stay with them and go.

I go to the track and 4 of us showed up out of the 11-12 that voted at the meet. 2 of us raced, all the rest were 4th gens, so i know how you feel about flakiness. When you drive in expecting a line of third gens representing, and you see three...its kind of disheartening.

My car ran a whopping 16.2 at 82MPH lol

I would like to get at least one meet together where everyone can cruise to Houston, and i know those that would actually go for sure. You can tell the flakey ones from the die hards after a few meets. Let me know when the next big meet is or if you guys want to come to San Antonio...

Cheers

Definetly a poor showing by SA3GO. Almost everyone who voted for the Fbody vs. Foxbody event didn't even show up. I would have liked to have gone though. Looks like you all had fun.
