Re: Second Annual Texas Statewide Gathering
Thanks, I'd appreciate it. It might be better to have someone local with experience racing the 3rdgen chassis strengthen mine using materials at hand rather than aftermarket components. It won't ever be a track car but it eats up those roads in the Ozarks and the Rockies.

Re: Second Annual Texas Statewide Gathering
Anybody know where I can find a third brake light cover for my 86 IROC, the one that mounts on top of the hatch. I'm having a really hard time finding one.

Picked up a few items from Kirk, hes a pretty cool dude. I was going to go down & pick em up but he offered to bring them to me since he was already coming down.
Can't wait for this show. Just a little over a month now, I'm trying to get the car finished up by then.....the amount of $$$$ I'm spending on the Z is starting add up & the wifes not buying that whole its an "Investment For The Future" thing anymore lol......

Alright, good news! I started making more STS (Sequential Turn Signal) units so yes, I WILL be definitely bringing some with me to the roundup. $50 cash for fellow Texans! Yee-haw!

Re: Second Annual Texas Statewide Gathering
I don't want to litter this thread so I'll try to keep the answer simple:
depending on the vehicle and tail light configuration, you might need to use some extra wire and/or add sockets. Instructions can be found on the STS page when you scroll down.
For Camaro tail lights, you will need to make a slight modification to them. See this TGO thread.

I read that, and that's what I was responding to. To counter that, I've never heard of anybody that had a problem with them first hand, and every time I've written or called them, I got ahold of them right away.

Re: Second Annual Texas Statewide Gathering
I see what's going on now.
The mopar side of the business. Is handled by somebody else. (( Who is trying to sell is half of the business btw) so I can see why there are conflicting reports on doing business with this company.
From everything that I have seen, the third gen side Is easy to deal with

If I understood him correctly, johhnydees said they are getting out of everything except the 3rd gens.
I guess if it is handled by separate people, the other guy is getting out

Re: Second Annual Texas Statewide Gathering
Just an FYI, the MOPAR side is handled by Kirk's father. When I went to Kirk's place a while back, I couldn't find it. Called the number posted on the website, an older gentleman answered. When I told him I was lost and didn't see any thirdgens at the posted address, he stated, "Oh, you're looking for my son's place."

Re: Second Annual Texas Statewide Gathering
The guys @ JD's are first class. I bought a hundred dollars worth of parts off him. I live in Houston and was getting ready to drive out to yoakum to pick the parts up, but he offered to meet me somewhere since he was coming down to Houston anyways.
Someone who did not care would have simply let me make the trip over instead of dealing with the inconvienece of meeting up with someone.
I'm very excited about him being @ the meet hopefully he brings a ton of parts with him to choose from.

Re: Second Annual Texas Statewide Gathering
I'm gonna try and make it out there. Hope I can but I got laid off and so we'll see how fast I can get a job again. Having a 6 month old doesn't help. Gonna try but even if I go, no 3rd gen, to many problems to take her so far. I'll let you all know the status of the El Paso fellas.

Re: Second Annual Texas Statewide Gathering
Our annual Germanfest is also that weekend with tons of food, games, carnival rides, beer and German music.
http://www.cityofpflugerville.com/index.aspx?NID=664
We have been attending for over 10 years and if any of you are looking for something to do just down the road, I would recommend this.
I volunteer for my church to cook hamburgers so I will be working there in the morning till 1:00 pm then head to the gathering and then back to the festival for some good times.
Anybody is welcome to join us.
One month away!!

I actually got to use one of the flyers today. Saw a red RS sitting out in front of jack and the box on my way home from work so I dropped one on the windshield.
