As I put in my original post, I'm bringing a 2nd gen. Put me under the no 3rd gen if you have to.

 

I am trying real hard to make it. Its on the calendar, just have to make sure it doesn't get bumped off by anything else! Looking forward to caravaning down there. I'll be in my 90 Iroc. i think I've got the cooling system fixed finally, otherwise there is no way it would make it in the heat down here (new to Texas still).

Yes. Sort of a Maroon. Its the original color, but it was repainted in '95 by a Chevrolet Body shop in Indiana. They did a great job on it.

 

Love it! Hopefully i'll see it in person in three weeks

 

I hope so. I've nursed it along the last 8 years or so and just dumped a bunch money into it to try and make it useful again. This will be the first big test. It hasn't ventured more than hour from home in about 6 years!

Well, I still haven't found a good IROC-Z yet but I still plan to be there to see all the great 3rd gens. Can't hardly wait!

my car might be there, its no show car yet though. we might be taking something more efficient on gas.
We're from denison, tx. about 2 hours north of Dallas

 

there will be a LOT of cars there that aren't show quality, including mine. Please bring it if at all possible. Seeing the great collection of thirdgens is what is so fun about it, and BTW, anybody who brings a third gen is eligable for the raffle prizes, and there are some very valuable things being given away. We're talking hundreds of $$ worth

Im gonna try to take the car. But ive gotta see how dependable it is first. I just got it last week with huge plans for it. But the last thing i want is it breaking down 6 hours from home. Im gonna test the waters around here for the next week or so and try to determine if it can make the trip.

 

Dillanmiles - this is the farthest my car will have gone in about 6 years, so you'll be in good company. I am sure if any of us see each other on the side of the road, we will stop to help, thats my logic in making the trip anyway. I am doing the same, trying to get enough miles in before the trip to fee comfortable. I have ended doing almost the entire cooling system the last couple weeks. Seems like something breaks about every 3 weeks.

 

My Biggest concern is GAS.

The freaking prices are ridiculous! 3.90 is the highest I've seen it. Hopefully I can get the v-tech 4 banger dropped in the IROC b4 the trip so that I can save on gas.....

I hear you. I was planning on having my family come down in the suburban as a support vehicle, but now I think they will just stay home. that would be an expensive trip for the suburban

 

Yup, the higher these prices get the more I like my sweet little 305. Putting headers on it Saturday; we'll see what it does for mileage. About 330 miles to Georgetown for me but it's great to see all those 3rd gens.

 

I'm in and my roomate should be in. That's 2 people, 2 thirdgens. His parents want to join so add 2.

we're meeting at the braums right off the highway around 10 to 1030, and pulling out as a group right after that. the caravan is quite an experience, seeing 20 thirdgens either in front of you or behind you on the highway.

I think it would be cool for the leader of the pack to the garage have a TX flag on their car somehow. I know Dan(JlIroc) has police flashers in his headlights from it's pace car days. Maybe his car can lead the pack???
