Holtville Feb. 22nd

Anyone up for Holtville again, I am free that weekend and I am thinking of going down again. This time, without a video camera. Also, if anyone wants to just tag along, it will cost you nothing ... well only food for yourself. For those of you who want to run, it is $60. It is, for me at least, a 700 mile round trip ... so you'll need gas. The other thing you would need is a helmet, but you may barrow mine. Also you can take passenger's, but they would also need a helmet to ride with you on the track. Again, I can lend mine out, if I am not using it. It is a good idea to bring a cooler full of beverages and snack/sandwhiches.

I know Mike got ruffled last time, he might not go. :sillylol: But what about James, Chris or Tom?

If there is not a forcast for rain, sounds like fun.
How do they run it, and how long are the sessions and how many sessions do you get.

The course is not as bumpy as the video shows. Mike T.'s camera is hard mounted to his car (no shock absorbment). It compares to most freeways. If you've driven on any of So-Cal's freeways, then you shouldn't have a problem (IMHO).

There are no "sessions", just get out there and run. You could (fuel permitting) run from 9:00 AM until ~4:00 PM, when they stop.

All that loads is the title page, and i think only part of that.
What I am looking for is the map to the site.

Tom, I just used the directions on Mike Tarrant's site:

Directions to the track:
  • Take Interstate 8 to the Orchard Road off ramp.
  • Turn left and go toward Holtville.
  • At the third STOP sign, turn right (Hwy 115 sorta main street Holtville) and go to the 4 way STOP (Holt Avenue).
  • Turn left onto Holt Avenue, and continue to Norrish Road (approximately 2 miles).
  • Turn right onto Norrish Road (you will see a sign reading "Holtville Air Strip 6 Miles") and proceed approximately 6 miles. Cross over the canal. Just continue on the paved road to the track

I also went to Mapquest and input Holtville, Ca for an area map. You could email Mike T. ( megabit@***.net ) for more info. We met up at the 15/78 freeway, at a Coco's restaruant.
