HELP with top bolts?

Transmission: 700R4 with Midwest 3400 2.4str...M6
Axle/Gears: SLP Zexel Posi unit 3.42's...3.73's
HELP with top bolts?

how can I screw the top bolt of my struts? I took them off with an impact gun but cant get them back on with it....the strut shaft just spins and the bolt wont go down... theres really nothing for me to hold on..
any ideas?

Transmission: T5 / t10 / Jerico
Axle/Gears: 10blt w 3.42, 9 in w /3.80 DL
They may already be fully seated. When this occurs it will spin the shaft.

wrong......they are not fully seated and when the bolt is the shaft will not turn the bolt will just get tight.....

anyways..its a lock nut so when I start it it gets tight....but I dont have any way to tighten it any more....nothing to grab onto to...

I'll take a picture of it tomorrow.

I have never experienced this problem when using an impact.

I have done 3rd gen struts numerous times. I just blast the nut down. The nut and washer / spacer just keep the strut from falling out of the car in drop

If the strut shaft will not spin, how does the car turn?

there is usually an allen of something inside the top shaft that you can hold and turn the nut with a wrench,

All the struts I did on my 3rd gens had either 2 flats to clamp to or a hex on top

Limits you to using a box end wrench but whatever works i guess

I got it!...thanks.

I had to use my old bolts..the new just would not go on far enough to expose the flats....the old did...

sorry for freakin out!...LOL
