i got some 17 by 9 ws6 rims the other day and need to know whats the best size adapter for these rims to fit without them alot sticking out. I've heard 1.5 or 2" which would work

The best size adapter/spacer would depend on the backspacing on your wheels.
I recomend www.skulte.com. He knows this stuff and is a member here. But he will need to know the backspacing.

before I got my 4th gen rear, I ran 2" spacers all around, with ls1 brakes on all corners. This is how far they stuck out. I might end up getting new spacers one day, at 1.7 or possibly 1.5 inches up front. My advice, go with 1.7" spacers.
so there wouldn't be a problem with the 1.7" up front, i know it will clear on the rears. I'm going to check the back space tomorrow just want to get it right before i order any.
And thanks for the info.

That's the only way you'll know for sure.Supreme Member
I ran 1.25" ones up front with my '02 thick spoke 17x9 WS6 wheels. I also have LS1 brakes which space it out 1/8" or so. They tucked awesome up front. For the rear I had a 4th gen rearend.
those are the ones i have. i went a head and got 2" adapters if i dont like it i will go smaller later.
With stock 3rd gen brakes, should be 2" all the way around. With LS1 brakes up front, should be 1.7". Im running LS1 brakes, and a 4th gen 12bolt...So I got 1.7" in the front, and nothing in the rear. And they are perfect.
X2 on Skulte. Andres is a great guy, knows his stuff, and is willing to help you out.
