As blowen said, the 4th gen aluminum driveshaft will fit. Just to elaborate a bit, the 3rd gen aluminum JG1 shaft has a part number 10085375. I just ordered one from GMPartsDirect.com complete with yoke and u-joints for $242.14 shipped. Good luck finding one, and JamesC who's around here quite often sells the shafts for around $150 I believe. Check with him to see if he has any.

The LS1 driveshafts are slightly different, but I am told they will still work.

You're lucky to have a yard near you with late model stuff!! Around here, everything is 87 or older.

I have an aluminum driveshaft I bought off a guy who replaced his 2000 LS-1 Trans-am with a carbon-fiber one. Its virtually new only has less than 1,000mi. I pay $180 and I just want my money back.

87 GTA at the heart of the muscle lies a 350 with that big PITA Box induction, A used Paxton Blower that better work and a laptop to mess-around with the fuel and spark controls. The great ZZ-4 heads which are still virgins and a flat not roller bumpstick that Crane calls a single pattern for both 222*dur. &.450"lift at .050. Undestructible tranny I hope built by Dana and an expensive assed converter to fly off the hole. A F-word rear from Currie with mister spohns suspension. A ran up credit card bill and hopefully a fast as* car.

Thanks for the plug, Jason. I currently have two of the 1LE type alum shafts. Both have unrusted slips but are missing the rear U-joint caps (I'd replace anyway). The JG1 will fit both autos and manuals, third and fourthgen through '97, I believe.
