Outer wheel bearing won't go on

Took them off during the winter for my upgrading. Had them sandblasted and I repainted them. Starting to assemble everything but the outer wheel bearing won't slide over the spindle. The spindle shafts are clean, no debris. The wheel bearing will go maybe 1-2 mm onto the shaft then it fetches up. I even bought a new bearing and had the same result. Any ideas?

1LE outer bearings are different and most common parts stores wont know the difference. I went through this mess the day before G14. Irritating to say the least

The PN you're wanting is A-34

What did you have sandblasted and repainted?

The outer 1LE bearings have a different OD, but the ID is the same as the 34 to fit the OE spindle.

That's good to know but I am using the same bearings that were on them before.

I had the spindles sandblasted and painted. The drivers's side bearings went on as it should. It's the pass side outer that won't slide on. I am reusing the SAME bearings that were on it before, which only have 500 miles on them. Also the castle nut is needing alot of force the screw on, feeling like it's cross-threaded.

So the inner slips on, but the outer won't?

Correct. In the back of my mind I thought the machinist gave me a different spindle, that's how tight the outer bearing is

If everything fit before the spindle left your hands and now doesn't, even using the same parts, I'd have to wonder what transpired with the machinist.... And there's the question of the castle nut as well. If the threads on the spindle aren't galled, the old nut should screw onto the old spindle with little effort. Humm.

Re: Outer wheel bearing won't go on

Fixed! Took the spindle off and to the machinist. There was a tiny flat spot on the edge of the shaft underneath and a thread that had a burr.

Honestly, Everytime I go for wheel bearings at the store, they end up not fitting anyway..
