Installing Jamex lowering springs......

I am putting these springs in, and they are a little different than the stock pieces(duh!). I am assuming the flat side goes up, correct? My real question is about the rubber spring insulators. Do I really need different ones to match the flat side of the spring vs. the round these were intended for? I already have them taped on the top of the spring, but I remember reading in a mag where they swapped springs (Car craft or GMHTP) that they swapped these rubbers out with a Mustang rubber because of the change in the spring face. Is this necessary? I know a lot of members here have gone with the Jamex and am just wondering what you have done. I know it's a small detail, but I just want it right. Thanks for the input.

EDIT: I am referring to the fronts BTW

When I installed my Jamex springs I used the stock GM spacers that I had removed from my WS6 springs.

Be sure you put the bottom of the spring, the "pigtail" end down and make sure the pigtail covers one of the drain holes like the directions say. Install both sides opposite yet equal.

So the flat side goes down? Please quick, someone tell me. I already have them in, and I hope they aren't upside down.

The insulator is only going to fit in one end... You make the decision.

btw what do you mean by "flat"? like there's an actual machined flat surface on one end of the spring; or the end where the end of the coil is closed to flatten the spring's overall shape?

I just took one out, and if the flat side goes down, the lettering that has the part number and says "front" would be upside down. Also, the insulator only fits over 2/3 of a coil because of the shape. The ride height looked good as well.
Also, on my buddies Monte, the flat side goes up. I think I had it right.
I have an alignment appointment at three, so I hope I get to the bottom of this quick.

By looking at the stock springs shape, and the lettering placement, and the insulator fit, there is no way I can see that the flat side should go down. I'm putting it back in the way it was.
