Another Subframe connector post!

Subframe connectors...Spohn, UMI or Alston?
Does somone have pictures with subframe connectors on their car with dual cats? I have the dual cat magnaflow setup and its already almost hitting the pinch weld so im trying to figure how to fit in some SFC
Alston look pretty nice and might work with the dual cats?

Please help!

Re: Another Subframe connector post!

I just got my alstons ,(and they go on the inner rail not behind the pinch like UMI or Spohn). And Ill be putting them on when the weather gets better plus I have some square tube stock that I made for the pinch and to tie both together, but I have no cat. But the alstons are nice and LonSal is the man. thats my thoughts

Re: Another Subframe connector post!

I was just thinking about putting the outer SFC but both would be nice! Ive heard some bad things about competition engineering SFC and their fitment, just do some searches on them and see what people are saying. But i think a nice set up would be Spohn outers and alston inners =)

Re: Another Subframe connector post!

They fit awesome, right along the frame channel.... they are a tight fit in dual cat cars however if you drop the pipe instal that side connector bolt it in there its a breeze.. then weld them to the frame on both ends...
I have no pics of them installed but we used them back in 1992 when Jegs released them the last set I had was in '99 on my '89 TA ...

Can you easily weld them to the pinch weld?

Yes.... you can weld them in a few other areas aswell..
All you need is roughly 2" of weld in each area *****move carpet away from floor or completely remove carpet from car******

Re: Another Subframe connector post!

Are the jegsters bolt in or weld in?

I was going to go with alston and comp engineering but whats the problem with the comp SFC?

Also, i cant even find the jegsters anywhere.

Here is a link that will actually take you too them, not just to the Jegs main page.
http://www.jegs.com/i/Jegster/550/40053/10002/-1
I just wonder how Jegs can call the subframe ties when they don't even touch the front subframe in our cars.

Re: Another Subframe connector post!

the jegsters weld to the front piece of metal that is welded to the subframes, so they do weld to the same material
