Bolts for K-Member, A-Arms and motor mounts?

Hey guys,

I am currently searching for a source to buy new k-member bolts (the 6 bolts that bolts the k-member to the frame), new motor mount bolts (the bolts that bolt the motor mounts to the k-member) and new bolts that bolt the A-Arms to the k-member.
I only found UMI Performance 3011 on Summit. Are these correct for the A-Arms? Where can I purchase bolt kits for the motor mounts and k-member?

Thanks!

not sure on the motor mount bolts, but if you have one to go off of just hit up the hardware store for some good ones.

There are different grades of bolts for each part. FYI the grade is labeled on the end of head of the bolt. Automotive bolts have a range a little higher than hardware store bolts. Especially on high stress parts. You can get up to a grade 8 bolt at the hardware store and will suffice for some or most applications but I would check when it comes to things like suspension or engines.

Nothing on the car is higher than grade 8, however being that most the bolts that are not on the drivetrain are metric, they are called 10.9, which is equivalent to grade 8.

I just use grade 8/10.9 for everything since typically they are made from better steel than lower grade fasteners and hold up better.

Oh and the nuts, a lot of suspension parts are of the locking type. And don't use nylocks. You might be able to get a lot of them from your local parts store or dealership.

I've snapped grade 8 bolts at 80 ft lbs. Hate to be in the car if you drop an A arm. IMO

just saying to check the grade and type and replace with the same. Yes a grade 8 sea bolt is equivalent to a 10.9 metric.

And just to be clear on "type" is your thread count. Don't use coarse thread bolts when your replacing fine thread bolts. So the hardware store may have the right grade but the thread count is equally important.

Re: Bolts for K-Member, A-Arms and motor mounts?

Thank you guys for all your answers. I was just curious about the threads, I didn't know if it would be metric or inch. Buying "american screws" grade 8 is nearly impossible over here in germany. Everyone sells any metric screw right of the shelf, but you can forget to buy any non-metric screw here... So I will go with Spohn, they have all screws I need (even for the transmission crossmember) and they do ship to germany. What a dream! Thank you all!
