I thought I ordered the correct sway bar bushings for my '87 IROC but they seem to be too tall. My sway bar measures 35mm.. can someone let me know if this is correct and if not what part number I should be using? I'd like to use polyurethane of possible... Thanks!

FWIW I've had the top down solution ones on my car for over a decade. The grease fitting is nice but never had to re grease them after installing them.

If I could do my entire car in poly-graphite I would, the graphite in the compound seems to cut squeaks down.

 

I'm curious, can you take a picture of them from a different angle? Do they fit the stock shells correctly besides being too tall?

The reason that I ask is that the stock bushings get very thin by the bushing shell in the larger sizes, and I'd probably consider making spacers to fit those if they fit the shells well otherwise.

Past that, ES, Prothane and others all have PNs that fit in the stock bushing shells. They'll also list a PN with the shell, but if you look at them the bolt holes are straight across, instead of offset like the stock ones. Some people will still just bolt them on, but that forces one side of the bushing to get mashed, typically it will cut through and you'll get steel on steel wear and binding that will break endlinks. It's easy enough to move one of the holes a little to make it line up, but no real reason to if you have the stock shells, just get the right PN from them.
