You will need a shop to mill the heads for you. The L98 heads have, I believe 64 cc combustion chambers. To keep the compression up, you need them milled to 58 cc. Otherwise, you will lose compression. That's about all I know about it, as I've haven't messed with heads as of yet, but the machine shop will know what you are talking about as long as you give them those numbers. Do a search on the L98 head's cc just in case, as I am sleepy and not 100% sure if they're 64 cc or not.

I think they are 64 cc. Milling is also required as your intake may not seat properly with those heads. You'll have to be careful with headers too, I think L98's use angled plugs. A bitch to find out they won't work with your headers.

The L98's are 64cc and the iron version doesnt have angle plugs.

Mill the heads to 58cc chamber volume and give them a decent port job.

Hey, he said he want to put them on a 350 not 305, he is not the same guy that begun the thread.

So no milling to 58cc ok (you will bump the static compression too much) but porting a valve job is ok I think.

oops my fault. Well depending on the pistons you're using in your 350, you will probably want to stay with the 64cc chamber volume.

Im thinking about picking up a set of l98s for my setup....

getting a valve job and port and polish, screw in studs and stiff springs...i need something that can handle the lift of a lt4 hotcam

I might get a set of l98s just because they are decent heads and cheap...not to mention they are much better than my lo5 swirl ports...I have a l98 cam in my motor but stock for stock the l98 had 45 more hp than the 9c1 lo5...go figure.
