TBI spacer hood clearance

I have a TBI one inch spacer but I am worried if it will fit with no hood clearance probs. I have the stock intake and air cleaner but I can see an indent of the air cleaner in the insulation when I close the hood. Does anyone know if this will fit or not. Don't want to do all that work and then have to take it off.

i have a 1/2" spacer, with a 14x3 open element, and that just clears the stock hood on a my camaro. if you got like a 2 1/2" filter, it should clear with a 1" spacer.

(or you can use this as a good exuse to get get kewl cowl hood put the spacer on, try to close the hood, and then tell the wife you need to get a new hood )

LOL that is a good idea but I already have her primed on getting a new cowl hood with the taxes, but that is months away. I just wanted to get this thing on and see if it does anything.

I am always trying to find a new way to justify what i spend i would really have to get out the stock assimbly and actualy measure it for you to find out it it would fit with a 1" spacer. IIRC the factory setup sat lower that my OE with a 3" filter. so it is possible that it might just squize in there.

oh... u might have to cut down the stud the air cleaner wing nut is on because that will hit the hood with u close it. I have a pic of the 1" spacer on my car.

this was before i figured the stock manifold/heads were **** and changed them. The car blew up though ... RIP. email me if u got any questions. camaroguy72@aol.com . later
