Smart @$$ aside, what part of the car is the smell coming from, engine, gas tank, etc.? It could be anything from a dirty fuel injector spraying fuel into the air cleaner, to a leak or a busted fuel line, to a tank problem.
I have the same problem. My gas cap is all screwed up and most retards around here working at gas stations don't check to make sure they put the cap on right. I usually drive for about a minute down the road with the windows down and i can smell the gas. I just pull over and yank on the cap and it pops right off. Then I put it on right myself.

Two Words.... SELF SERVICE. If you know it's going to happen then do it right and do it yourself.

Wow! That sucks. Sorry about the disrespect. I was thinking there was self service there too, and it just didn't make sense. Maybe thowing in a complaint would help?

Recall?
My 1991 RS was recalled about 6 years ago due to pin holes in the gas tank. Could this be you, too?
Or, you may have leaking fuel lines. Did you try putting some cardboard down underneath your car overnite and seeing if there are any tell-tale spots?
Hope you are able to determine the cause-

"Hmmm. Thank you for the info on your car."
I'm still laughing about that.

What swerve said.
I know my sending unit wasn't in the best shape when we pulled it for the pump installation. Probably do to that fact that the lines are routed in an area bound to trap moisture. It could be your problem. Could be the fittings on the filter as well
