Probably somewhere in the neighbor hood of 200hp.

do you already have the 1 7/8" long tubes on the 305 or are you planning to install them. You should definately step it down to 1 5/8", 1 7/8" is definately a HUGE overkill for a 305. 1 3/4" is even an overkill for a 305, even most 350s. That could definately hurt you low end power. I read that Lingenfelter said that a 305 should use 1 1/2" primaries until it is making 300HP.

yeah, 1 7/8" is way too big for a L03. I'd just get 1 5/8 with a full 3" exhuast all they way back. And don't worry about being around 200hp, cuz you're not. You maybe have 180-185. Gears don't give you horsepower, the open element and tbi spacer are good, just add an injector spacer and do the ultimate tbi mods and you'd have most of the intake side done. Throw on a chip and you will probably be around 200-210 hp, depending on the mileage of your car of course.

Do not use those headers. You will lose power with them. Plus how are you going to use dual cats with longtubes? Anyways, swap those headers and complete your exhaust with a cat back and you are looking at 180 to 200 at the crank.

With what you call Performance Mods??? everyone is being generous with the horsepower estimates. A 170Hp stock motor with what you added, not much more then stock. Sorry about that.

A full exhaust and intake LO3 can put 200 to the wheels 90% of the time. Even the lowly LO3 was slightly underrated from the general.

Another DREAMER.........+30 HP with full exhaust, sure.
I think the only true way would be to Dyno that Highly Modded 305 TBI. But no one want to spend money to be disappointed, they just want other people to guess for them (HP numbers)and take the highest estimates as it output.

We will hopefully find out Monday, after the fuel pump gets put in. I did show up w/ 183 HP simply by adding an open element and advancing the timing.

DJP87Z28,

I was skeptical when I heard of the gains from an LO3 after a full exhaust swap, but I was proved wrong. It's not uncommon to see 180+ HP at the rear wheels after that mod.

Here's the link to show how skeptical I was...

Now its REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER???? and 180 at that for a LO3
Good Luck I never came close to those gains with SLP Headers and a complete 3" SLP Catback Exhaust with a 350.
So what is your point with that thread, gave up reading it after two pages.

You must have had problems with your 350. I will dig up some dyno charts to show you. If anyone else can beat me to it please do. 190-200 can be easily achieved with a full exhaust, open element and good state of tune for T5 cars. I geuss I am just a dreamer that don't know anything about TBI cars then.

To show you what a bonehead you're being, as I was once being one in that thread.

If you click on the links that 25thRS gave, you'll see the actual dyno charts that show that much improvement.

Or you can deny the fact that you're wrong. It's up to you.

Here is one of those links. This guy had only a full exhuast with the stock air cleaner assembly and made 178hp. I am pretty sure he has an auto car as well. His number would have even been better with an open element and T5.

Here is another guy that is running 14.7 with stock heads and cam.

Wow a tpi guy comeing and telling us gains with our motors. i find that quite amuseing mabey you dont get very good power because you useing a 350 with a 305 tpi setup. but thats beside the point just look at flowmaster they slap on exaust systems to car and get up to 30rwhp gains. proven rwhp is hard to argue but hey if you wana hate and doubt tbi be my guest.

Lets not turn this into a war. Everyone can have their opinions we will just have our dyno sheets. This is why I hate power geussing threads like this.

I agree. The point of this thread got scewed and is heading in a downward spiral. Because of this I will end it now.
