TBI spacer(again, sorry)

Did anyone notice any real gains from a spacer?
Im only asking because I made and installed a 1/2" spacer and didnt notice a damn thing.

Yup, if you want noticeable gains save up for a cam or rear end gears, or headers.. stuff like that

spacers are only for fine tuning really

Yeah, the spacers don't matter much on bone stock, and even on a modded engine it shouldn't make a seat of the pants difference. Maybe 5-7 dyno hp?

yep and thats only if the motor needs one.. like i said its for fine tuning.. some motors want one , some dont. just apply the same rules that go for carb spacers to them. IMHO i dont ever see the need for a two barrel spacer, that will only boost part throttle torque i would think. I can definately see the need for an open plenum spacer especially when using a stock throttle body on a deep breathing motor. But its all a matter of testing what works

I agree the diff is probably minimal, at best. But do you think you could "feel"
a small increase. you really have to go to the track to know for sure. Unless, of course you have no baseline to measure against.

The last test I had with a 1/2" spacer didn't necessarily give a seat of the pants improvement, more like a smoother tip-in and part throttle blips. It's got to do something based on the shear fact that it creates more area for the air/fuel to funnel into the intake. Longer tube runners on TPI provide more torque, so it's a similar idea?

yeah it is, but in this case, it would kill off some top end as well being that it essentially makes the throttle body longer so the plenum area is charged with more velocity but like a long tube runner, the length kills airflow (like if you compare a pipe thats two inches long of the same diameter of one thats two feet long the shorter one will flow more) it would definately improve tip in and part throttle, but imho wot the two barrel spacer can be a detriment. Especially considering that our TBI units flow so little to begin with and in reality i think that this design is best suited to a carburetor where airspeed is critical since the fuel isnt introduced under pressure like on a tbi for instance
and i suppose that a 4 barrel spacer with seperate bores for each barrel would be a good addition to a slightly over carbureted motor for the same reason

Ill see at the track. I ran a 15.8 @87mph before I installed it. Im going back on the 1st for the Camaro/Firebird/Trans Am VS. Mustang challenge. Hopefully it will make a small improvement.
