TBI Rebuild NOT such a success.
Hey guys. I just rebuilt the TBI, just new gaskets and new filters on injectors, on my 89 camaro with a 305. Seemed pretty simple, but now the thing is running to rich. The rebuild kit I got had 2 different base gaskets, one was completely sealed off except for the 2 ports, the other was open between the ports. I didnt know which one of these to use since the other one came off in pieces. I did find that the gasket with the open the center on it made the car run "better" at idle, but still to rich. Would appreciate any feedback that could help. Thanks guys

Yes. The kit had the diaphram for it so I took the cover off, carefully, and replace it.

I am a little hesitant to think it is the injectors. The reason i decided to do the rebuild is because the motor would jerk like it wasnt getting enough fuel if you would hammer on it below bout 2500 RPM, worse in 5th gear and was ******* a little, like it wasnt getting enough fuel. i changed the fuel filter and nothing, so i decided i would take the TBI apart and give it a good cleaning, then when i put it back on this happened, buti t good very well be the injectors. I will look into them. Thank you

Dripping fuel will do EXACTLLY what you described! Jerking and surging while driving especially at constant pedal pressure. I had my car on the dyno last month. As I was dialing in the speedo and tach the car was slightly jerking back and forth. I though it was the straps might be loose or the rollers were having issues. The guy operating the dyno said my ideas wouldn't cause those symptoms.
After we took a look around we saw the secondary squinters on my carb were dripping fuel! Took care of it and the bucking and surging were completely gone. We were on a dyno so no other variables were present.
Surged, turned it off, fixed the dip, started it, no more surging. The drip is and WAS your problem.
