A 31" tire is huge even for 4.11 gears, 4.56 gears are a little better, or 4.88's

Don't forget, there are 2 sets of gears, the ones in the tranny and the ones in the diffs. What did the tranny come out of and how is it geared?
31s are a lot of tire, and they prolly have some decent tread; they are going to be hard to spin with anything close to stock engine/tranny/gears.
I had an 83 S10 Blazer that I dropped a 327 lightly tricked out and TH350 tranny... talk about a sleeper, I turned many a head with that. I just wish I still had the room so I could work on my IROC, I hate apt living.

Yeah, isn't stock like 26.1"?

31", even if its the stock width, will increase the contact patch a lot.

my Stock Factory Tires are 205 / 75R15...
now i have 255 70R15 ( 31 )
305 Tpi / 700R4 / 4.11 posi

last year i owned a 4.3 Vortec.. and this little engine was so powerful.. more than my actual 305 tpi.. and this 4.3 had only 190 HP / 260 ft/lbs

my 305 is suppozed to have 215HP / 290ft/lbs

so... the 4.3 was 3.42 posi ( 195 75R14... )
and this truck was able to make tires smokin at 20 25 mph... if i put the pedal on the floor...

my 305 isnt able to make it smoke stopped and then after floor it..

the truck is Stock! Engine is also stock...

Problem is still in the size of the tire and the gearing. It's all wrong as it sits now. Also in a truck, there's less weight over the rear tires so it's easy to burn them off.

ive changed my exhaust setup tonight... i went from 1 x 2 1/2 to dual 2inch and the engine is mutch powerful ... i think the catalys were too restrictive... ( that was my cat from my 2.8 )
the mufflers are 2x Walker Pn:18154

i feel the difference... so...

also i have an engine driven cooling fan... i think using a thermostatic fan to replace my flex fan...

how mutch HP my flex fan can use? ( Flex-o-lite Pn:1518 ( 2 1/4 pitch )
