Valve cover change
Hello i just bought these chrome valve covers and im going to replace the old ones with these. The problem (shame on me) is that i dont know really how to do it. So i ask you guys if you know what to do and not do. I also bought new gaskets because i guess that the old ones are not so good to use again.

by the look of those covers u bought centerbolts so make sure that the ones u are using on the motor now are centerbolts. if so there should be 4 in the center of your old valve covers. take the two hoses/grommet/breathers off and put on your new ones with those same four bolts. if u dont have four bolts along the center of your old covers either return the covers u bought or buy 4bolt cover conversion kit form summit or i even think jegs sells em

Ok thank you. Yes its a tpi engine so it has centerbolts Do i need to remove something on the passenger side? Theres a lot of hoses and stuff running there.
I've done it so much now that I can get the passenger one on by just routing it properly under the hoses. Of course I removed all the AIR pump stuff so that's not in the way anymore. If yours is still there you'll probably have to take it off. (Its a black box with a bunch of hoses coming off of it) If you don't have emissions inspecitons where you live you should just leave all of it off. No point to it really.
Also, when you do the passenger's side be careful of the alternator power cable. Nice big spark if you hit it with the cover.

ok thank you. Well i dont have to use a cat on my car so why keep the air pump, i have already removed some of the stuff when i changed to heeders. They only check the CO level . I think it has to be under 3.0 or maybe 4.0 so its not too hard to pass.

I found these at Summitracing.com. The part number is PRO-141-107. They cost about 106 dollars.
I think they look pretty good and they are not too expensive.
