Is this the elusive 1le gas tank?

I am looking for the baffled gas tank and I understand that the only difference between the 91-92 gas tanks and the "1le" fuel tank is the sending unit. Well I am just looking to get the gas tank, so that I can actually take a corner with less than a 1/4 tank of fuel in my car and not have to worry about if funbling for fuel

Since can't get it from GM, I was wondering if I went into kragen and asked for a fuel tank from a 92 Z28 (which is on their site) if it would be the baffled tank or some knock off without the baffled features.

Thanks in advance

James

All 91-92 gas tanks have the baffles. The only difference between that tank & 1LE is the internal parts, pump, strainer and sending unit.

I don't see why not, its the same size. You would have to change the fuel pump for a Carb engine.

I know that all 91-92 have the baffles, however that is from GM, what i want to know is if these aftermarket ones from places like kragen, or any local parts store will be baffled the same way. I also found the 1le sending unit on kragen's site for $325+ I just want to make sure these will work, if not will try to get one from GM.

As far as fitting into a 1982, I thought those were 13.5 gallon tanks...??? And the later models were 15.4 or something. There is a really good thread on here with the exact specs for each year directly from GM, but I didnt save the link

My 92 tank is 15.5 or so gallons, found that out the hard way once!! Anyway, I just put a pump in mine and it has some baffles in it.

I may be wrong, but I read that the 1LE tank had 18 gallon capacity.

Do a search on this site for "1LE gas tanks" . 82-92 F-body are all the same, the gas tank size may have changed but not the dimensions or location.
