SES Light on constantly
SES Light on constantly
I've been having starting problems mostly when engine was at operating temps so I had my injectors cleaned and flow matched by CruzinPerformance. There was no difference, so when I went to check the ECM for codes I got nothing and discovered that I didn't even have a SES bulb!!!! After replacing that, the SES burns all the time, with engine running or just with the key on....Also a loud "swoosh" from the gas tank when it's warm like a lot of pressure in there?? It was making fuel come out the fuel rail when the injectors were out....any ideas on either problem?? thanks
sounds like the car has been driven in open loop for a long time
which is basically limp home mode. It does this when there is no SES bulb
What you need to do is pull the codes from your car, this is described in the FAQ section of this website under the miscelaneous heading. ONce you pull the code cross reference the number to the chart on there and post the code and what it says and then we can help you

But after I put that new bulb in there it just burns constantly so I'm not really able to get any codes? And would this explain the pressure in the gas tank?? Thanks
JB,
Keep the bulb in there. The light is always on when the ignition is on with the engine off. If the light is always on when the engine is running, you should definitely have an error code.
Try to scan for codes again now that you have a lamp. You should always get at least a code '12'.
Find out what you have, then post the codes with the specifics on your car/engine.fuel system. I'm sure we'll find lots of suggestions regarding your findings.
