Engine starting then stopping right away.

My engine has been starting and then stopping 2 seconds later. Now I have either killed it or ran out of gas, because now when I turn the key it makes a repeating clicking noise and the rpm gauge bottoms out. Please help me, I have been getting a ride with my girlfriend to work!!!!!!!

You'll have to verify that the coil has power when the switch is in the RUN position as well as in the START position. I've had them fail that way.

You ran out of gas, plain and simple. Go get a can and get some more.

...And you should probably recharge your battery before proceeding. Your description sounds like you may have discharged it nearly completely.

Does the fuel gauge not work?

Nope the Fuel gauge is one of the things that is broken. I will go get some gas and let you know what happens. I am going to enjoy my memorial day though. Work on the car will continue on tues or wed.
