k just trying to figure out and engine> the vin number on it is
1g1241679

then is says something like KO6...............

if anyone has a clue please let me no.

Strange very strange when searching google with "1241679 " I don't even get a no results message.

Are you sure about those numbers could some of them be missread? Any other clues? Vehicle year # of cylinders, big block/small block, manufacturer?

its in a 83 z28 but its not the stock engine. its a v8. no i am sure that they are the right #s

For 83, 7 in the 8th digit is L69..... a 83 Z28 HO should have a VIN 1G1AP877xD........

You'l never guess how I know that.

no that not the vin number, oh another thing the block is orange>dont no if it was painted orange or came orange.

ya those are the numbers it is possible it is not a 1 in front of the G but other then that i can see the rest of the numbers clearly. the dude said it is a 350. but i want to no from what and what year.

I'm assuming you're talking about the engine vin stamped on the pad below the head? Not the car's VIN?

If so, then go to www.chevymania.com (assuming the sites still active) and send the guy an email with the block win, he'll tell you what your engine came from.

You could buy the book, but what the heck.
