Shorter plugs needed...

Hi...

I need shorter spark plugs. I use Autolite 3923 but they are too long- I burn my boots...............

Is there a way to cut the plugs?

I'm using DEI "boot protection" but the rubber still "melts" and the spark jumps to the header, is there any other boot protection?

/N.

If those heads take a gsketed, 5/8" hex head, long-reach thread plug (like many aftermarket aluminum heads do) you'll have a tough time finding a shortie version. My AFRs take plugs like that and I went looking for shorty versions- finding nothing.

I am using the GM Lt1 metal Spark plug boot protectors and that solved my boot buning problem with 1 3/4 SLP headers. About a $1.90 each at the Dealer.

I've been told that Bosch plugs are shorter than standard Delco's (don't know personally, I don't like Bosch myself).

Accel's header shortie selection is limited. I don't know exactly, but bosch plugs look to be over 1/4" shorter than delco plugs.

Its the long threaded plugs I need so I dont think ACCEL makes any shorty plugs for me....

I'll look in to LT1 metal covers.....

Using bosch platinum with my headers. They are shorter than most plugs I could find while rummaging behind the counter at my local auto parts store.

Bosch platniums are shorter than standard delcos, but the same length as rapidfires for aluminum L98 plug type. Just bought a bosch yesterday to compare to my rapidfires.
