Fuel distribution question.

I just ordered a holley blue fuel pump from work (110gallons per hour). I will be running this inline instead of a in tank fuel pump.

I have a mallory fuel pressure regulator. Running ~6psi. Should I run a line from it to my nitrous fuel soleniod or use a Y block in my main line?

Im thinking the Y block would be a better idea to make sure the nitrous soleniod gets the proper fuel. With a Y the 110gallons per hour should be dispensed pretty evenly.

What you think I should do? If I get the Y-block Ill sell my mallory reg and use the one i got for free with the holley blue fuel pump.

You should not "Y" or piggy back a nitous system into the fuel line that feeds the motor.

Install a new 3/8" fuel line from the tank all the way to the nitrous plate and use a separate fuel pump just for the nitrous system's fuel.

A Carter #4594 is rated at 72GPH free flow, runs at 7psi and is quiet and reliable. Its cheaper than the holley too.
it will flow more than enough for the Nitrous fuel requirements
and supply a steady flow of fuel. You can use your new Holley regulator to regulate this fuel line to the Nitous systems operating pressure.

If you Y in the nitrous system into the carb's fuel supply you risk
starving the motor when its on the juice.
A fast road to a ruined day.

A separate fuel system and lines for each insures you get a steady fuel supply with no pressure drop when you hit the juice.

A little extra work but well worth it in the long run.

You'll find the Carter electric pumps to be quieter and more reliable than the Holley stuff.

Don't forget and inline fuel filter.

How am I supposed to go about running an extra line from the tank. I am only running a 100 shot of nitrous. I dont think an extra line and extra fuel pump is really a must...would be nice but is it needed?

I also thought about using one of my ports on my mallory FPR to run the a soleniod but could also starve the motor. If I got the 110 gallon per hour holley pump I cant see me having fuel starvation problems.

Running the extra line would be the best but how do you simply add another line...it cant be that easy. I do have a return line that I will no longer need soon. I may try to make that work.

if you're only running a 100 shot, you dont need a dedicated line.

is your regulator a 3 port that has a return line or a 2 port that just has a in and out?

I am doing a 100 shot and have the line to the the fuel solenoid coming from my Mallory 3 port regulator. In testing it provides enough extra fuel to kill the motor at idle. I would suggest a second line from the tank if you are going to run a 200 or up shot.

How much pressure are you running to the motor and nitrous soleniods? I figured Id have plenty of fuel with my mallory running an extra line. If I had a bigger shot I could understand. I am purposely buying a edelbrock performer nitrous system so I cannot go over 100 shot unless I spend more money. 100 is the max I want to run on this motor until it gets better parts. Which should be awhile since its only got 8 thousand miles on it.

MrDude...they call the mallory a 3 port but it has 5 ports all together. I don't know why but it does.

i would use one of the other out ports on the regulator to run the N2O system.

you cant T off before a return style regulator. you'll never get the line pressure of the line coming off the T higher then what the regulator is set to.

Well I may be doing away with that return line. I have a 84 parts car that I may take the lines and pickup in the tank from. This would eliminate the return line since I won't really need it with the holley pump I'm getting.

So with a 110 gallon per hour pump you think it would definetly feed enough fuel?

The fuel lines from the Mallory 3 port to my carb and nitrous fuel solenoid are both getting the 6.5 psi that I have the regulator set at.

I wasn't sure what PSI the nitrous soleniods needed. You have AIM? You seem to have the same setup as me...i have a few questions for ya...

If so mine is camarosportcoupe
