How fast is too fast????
What Im asking is how much HP or pounds of torque can a Fbody have before it totally looses traction? With good high performance tires of course.

with no mods? not much, L98 will break the tires lose all day long, maybe not with slicks. anything over 325 or so you need to start doing the chassis and rear suspension mods.

Monkie,
Lots of variables. Rear gear ratio, tire size/compound/inflation, LCA angle, weight distribution, and launch techniques. I have an anemic 305TPI and can cause the rear tires to "totally lose traction" at will. A 1,400 HP twin-turbo SBC Formula must have good traction in order to be able to break 300MPH, but it's all in the application of the power.

Do some traction mods then. Adjustable panhard rod, adjustable torque arm, tubular LCAs...what kind of shape is your posi in?

Im not an expert here, but I know that on the street WITH my drag radials on and my stock converter, I will spin them pretty hard in 1st gear and then again into second. Now when they are aired down to 18psi and I do a short burnout.......they hook great. I have a feeling all of that is going to change the first time I launch with my 3000 stall converter this spring.

I think you're right. Your combination looks very well thought-out.....nice.
That 104 trap speed in the low 13's should move to 12.90 @ 106-108 MPH.........
IF you can get it to hook. Good luck !
