nasty smell

i beat on my mothers car one day spinnin donuts and rippin hole shots and when i was done there was this nasty fart like smell. Like a rotten egg odor. Like what u would smell when u were charging a battery that was messed up. I put some mystery oil in but it didnt do nothing. Does anybody have any idea what the smell could be or what i gotta do to get rid of it? its not a camaro but it gets me to the part store to buy stuff for my camaro. thanx

a bad catalytic converter usually causes the rotten egg smell your experiencing. i dont know why it does it, but ill bet its bad.

I'll bet too much unburned fuel got in there.
It can start some sort of reaction, and make
exactly the kind of smell you are talking about. That is why the tuneup helped the
guy above - too rich a mixture can do it.

alot of GM cars do it, and possibly others. it is just probably runnin a little rich at wide open throttle. my S-10 does it and i know of alot of other cars that do it, i don't think it is really bad.

I think its the catalytic converter. Bottled is right, they smell like a$$ when they go bad. Start the car up, and smell the exhaust to see if thats the origin of the smell.

Maybe you consumed too many egg or bean type products, and in the excitement of doing donuts - broke wind while driving. That could be the smell. It could also be the cat. convertor. they get pooched out sometmies. change it - its only about 200 bucks.
