Cam Swap

Hey guys I'm changing out the timing chain on my 305 any day now and have an L98 cam sitting here that I'm thinking, why not put this in for the time being. Anyways, say I have the radiator dropped already, will I need to pull the nose off the car to swap cams or is there enough room to swap without taking the nose off? Let me know what needs to move. Thanks guys.

there 2 cross support beams that run in a diagonal pattern across the front of the car, the cam wont clear them..you'll get the cam 95% out and it'll hit the bars, just undo the top bolts and slide them out of the way.

Do you have an AC condenser? If so, that needs to be slid out of the way as well.

Oh side suggestion: Do you have one of those sockets that fit over the crankshaft snout? if so, after you remove the timing cover, rotate the engine to align the gears dot to dot. Makes things easy for installation. Just install the gears dot to dot and drop the distrib, pointing to #6.

Yeah, I have A/C, so I guess I'll have to move that out of the way then. I should be able to get a hold of a socket to fit, thanks for the suggestion, I'll do that.
