Fan wont cut on with AC!!!

I havent had time to check it out, but I'm 90% sure that temp wont cut it on either. What should I check for? This sucks!!!

With this car, it's never a question of "can I...", only "will I..."!

If the tempature of the car won't kick it on either, it could be the tempature switch that is bolted directly into the block between the number 6 and 8 plugs. These are on the passenger side of the car. First I would check to make sure the fan motor is still working. Do this by locating the fan relay. Unplug it, and turn the key in the on position. On the plug end find the hot wire, usually black with a red stripe. Plug a wire into it, then take that same wire and plug it into the ground on the same plug. The fan should kick on. If not then you need a new fan motor.

so your aware, if ya trace the wires back, the fan relay is mounted on the firewall to the drivers side of the brake booster.

I've checked the fuse already and when my girlfriend gets back with the car, I'll check the fan. What I really needed to know is how to check the relay itself???

I would put my money on your freon charge. If you don't have enough freon in the A/C system, you won't build up enough head pressure and the fan won't turn on. Check your freon content.... I'll bet it's low or not even there.

If you need a quick fix while you figure something out, buy a $3 fog lamp relay from Auto Zone. Splice as wire off the hot (green?) wire going to the AC compressor to act at the activator. Splice into the fan's hot wire, and connect the relay to the battery, and you're ready to go. I have been around the block with fans and fan wiring. Now both my fans run off fog lamp relays. One is AC activated, the other ignition activated. Ideal: No. Works: Yes. The best solution after 100 hours of fruitless labor trying to fix the stock system: Definitely.
