VAlVE COVER LEAK UNSTOPABLE!!!
I bought MOROSO Red anodized valve covers and their matching $35 dollar gaskets from Summit and i cannot get the damn things to seal for the life of me....first i just put them on normal...leaked like hell...then i put a 1/4" bead of RTV on the valve cover and sealed the gasket to the valve cover...i am 100% sure that this seal is not causing the leak..then i let them dry completely and put them on the car and....nothing..still leaks like hell..I can watch oil leak from in between the heads and valve covers still when the car's running.
Does anyone know how to fix the problem w/o dipping the entire engine in R.T.V???
If not, then what recommendations do you have for a thicker less bendable valve cover???
Thanks,

Only other thing to try w/ those covers IMO is to put a thin layer of RTV on the side of the gasket between the head and the gasket... only way I could get my peremiter bolt VCs to not leak... makes clean up a little worse when you take them off, but I just put enough spread out with my finger to make it seal... so its not that bad.

Do a close inspection of the valve cover and make sure it is not slightly dented or something where leak is. Chekc the block also and make sure there are no impurities on that spot. I know that sounds pretty simple but evan the smallest thing can cause a problem.
Also lay the valve cover on something you know is flat and check to see if it is warped.

I even bought the valve cover hold down's that more evenly disperse the pressure over a more broad span on the edge of the valve cover.
I am thinking about just returning these covers and buying a thick set of stamped steel sets that wont bend

Sounds to me like they're not even touching the heads.
You don't by any chance have roller rockers, do you? Sounds like the VCs are sitting on top of the Poly-Locks, and aren't tall enough for the flange to reach the head.
I'd strongly recommend getting something else.
For example, I'm running the ProForm ones you can get from SDPC among other places; they have the factory style oil baffles and therefore support PCV without leaks or spewing oil mist unlike those stupid push-in breathers you're usually stuck with when you run aftermarket VCs. Only problems with them are, you have to munge the baffle (smash it) to get it to fit between the rocker trunnions; and they don't have a separate place to add oil. You have to add it through the PCV holes which is kind of slow.

Yes i do have 1.5 roller rockers but the valve covers are the tall style and are not resting on or even touching the rockers. They are plenty tall...i think the valve covers are just warped to hell and back....what's SDPC?
