it's a lil smokey..
well my 84z has had a 350 change in it. 4bbl qjet. but i don't know what else has done with it and the prior owner didn't do any of it. so i'm sol. till i can get to the heads and block number. but when i start her up she give a nice puff of blue smoke. then thats done my friends who were following me one day. said it was smelling funny. and looked like it was smokeing just a tinny but. could my oil giudes be bad.?? any help or sugjestions will help. i added some lucas oil stabilizer. i've had good expirnce with them in the past. but thanks

well, if a car smokes blue smoke continuously even after warmed up, that indicates bad piston rings more than likely. If it only occured during initial startup, and then went away completely, then it would most likely be a valve seal(s) problem. Take out your spark plugs and inspect them for any oil coating. This will tell you if oil is entering your combustion chamber, whether it be leaking past the piston rings and up into the chamber, or leaking from the valve seals down into the combustion chamber. One question, how many miles is on this engine? Good luck.

i dunno how many miles are on it acctully. the odometer is broken. at 163xxx but i'm building a 383 stroker for it but i wanted to sell the 350 for a lol extra chas but if it's a piston ring i'm sol

ok i got the spark plug out. form my veachil calss in highschool i'm taking right now and waht i've learned form the chart of sprak plugs looks like thiers wear on the ground electorde. half the white is showing he other half is black and it's caoted in black every were else. so i forgot what this means any help woudl be nice

i'm sorry i'm jus tin a bit of a rush to get this done. i didn't check my spelling. and i'm not the best at it. i'm trying to work on it. but i gusse thats why i'm in "special" class for english. o well thanks for the help though.
