where will it brake 2 bolt block

hears the deal. i am building a 383 using a cola crank h beam eagle rods a set of afr 195 heads and a lunati roller cam pbly some thing in the 220-225 @.05 dur area. what do you guys think this thing will make for power and what will brake first if i boost it. i dont realy care about the block but i dont want to kill the rotating asembaly or the heads. the block will be geting full machine work and may be a partial fill in the block

Get some good ARP bolts and you'll probably be fine. If your really worried about it, you could always have 4-bolt aftermarket caps installed.

the shop that i was going to have do my block work told me that it would not help to have it re caped with steel splayed 4 bolt caps. he said that the only way to replace the caps and gain any thing would be to have the block recut to accept registers that are mill to fit and by that time for another 500 you can get a dart block.

Thats the first time I have ever heard someone say that. Every machine shop I have ever talked to said that splayed caps were great. Maybe a second opinion is in order?

Could it be they just don't know how, or have the equipment to size the caps to fit in the saddles of the block?

90% of the time when a shop says something isn't better (when you know damn well it is) it means they can't or don't know how to do it.

Hey, we agree on something! Seriously, you are right, that is usually what the deal is.

There are a lot of things we agree on.

You just have a tendency to make sure EVERYONE knows how you feel about certain stuff. I don't.

If I gave my opinion here, I'd have a higher post/day count than you.
